Who we are
Haris Cars runs hariscars.com (the “Site”). We publish engine guides, the blog, and video guides from our YouTube channel. The contact page sends messages to contact@hariscars.com.
We decide what the Site collects and why, while specialist companies (hosting, email, database, Google) process information on our behalf under their agreements with us.

What we collect and why
Browsing only
You do not need an account to read the Site. Our host still sees technical data needed to show pages—such as IP address, browser type, rough area from the IP, time, and page URL. We use that to keep the Site running, debug issues, and stop abuse.
Contact form
We ask for your name, email, subject, and message so we can reply. Delivery goes through Resend or SendGrid depending on which service is connected on our server. Those providers see what is in the email payload. We keep messages only as long as needed to finish the conversation and tidy up afterwards.
Blog
Articles and cover images live in Supabase. Public readers are not asked to log in. We do not use the blog database to build individual reader profiles for marketing. If editorial content mentions you and you want to talk about it, use the privacy inbox above.
YouTube
Some pages embed YouTube players (Google). Playing a video lets Google process information under its own rules—playback, security, and sometimes advertising-related signals. Visitors who need a consent banner see Google’s certified consent flow from our AdSense setup (two main choices: accept personalised ads or open manage options).
Google AdSense
We run Google AdSense display ads. Google uses cookies and similar tools to deliver and measure ads. Where a consent banner is shown, personalised ads follow the choice you make there. Google’s own privacy materials explain the rest: policies.google.com/privacy.
Cookies
Beyond what the host needs, most extra cookies come from AdSense and YouTube. Use the consent banner’s “Manage” path when you want to revisit choices. You can also clear cookies in your browser or adjust Google ad personalisation in your Google account settings.
Who else sees data
We work with:
- Hosting — serves the Next.js app, HTTPS, and logs.
- Supabase — stores blog text and images.
- Resend or SendGrid — sends contact-form email.
- Google — AdSense, YouTube embeds, and (server-side) the YouTube Data API for the video guides list.
Those companies may process data in the United States and elsewhere. They publish their own safeguards and settings; we pick reputable services and configure them sensibly for a small publisher site.
Retention
- Contact mail — kept until the thread is done plus a short practical buffer, unless we must keep something longer for a serious operational reason.
- Logs — short rolling windows from the host unless we extend for an abuse investigation.
- Cookies — controlled by Google and your device settings.
Your choices
Email contact@hariscars.com if you want a copy of what we hold about you from the contact channel, if you think something is wrong and should be corrected, or if you want us to delete contact-side data that we can reasonably identify. We may ask a quick sanity check that the request is really yours before sending personal details anywhere.
Children
Haris Cars is built for people interested in cars and engines, not for young children. If you are a parent and believe a child sent us personal details through the contact form without your OK, write to the privacy inbox and we will delete what we can find tied to that message.
Security
We use HTTPS, sensible passwords on admin tools, and vendors with strong reputations. No online service is perfectly secure—please do not send bank details, government ID numbers, or passwords through the public contact form.
Automated profiling on our side
Haris Cars does not run its own automated scoring or profiling about individual readers on this Site. Ad networks may automate bidding or relevance on their side under their own products.
Changes
When tools or partners change, we update this page and bump the date at the top. If consent matters for a new tracking feature, we rely on the banner Google gives us through AdSense rather than silently expanding scope.
